    Have you signed up for preventative health screenings? The scans are voluntary, but participation is highly recommended since the scan will be provided at no cost and can prevent future health problems for you. Also, employees who choose not to participate will be charged a fee.

    Road Closures

    • 200 block of East Fisher bridge is closed due to repairs. This is a long-term closure.

    • 400 Block of Hidden Creek Circle is closed – the repair is estimated to take approximately 2 weeks.

The 2022 Cheerwine Festival will be held on Saturday, May 21, in Salisbury from noon to 10 p.m. In preparation for the Festival, the city will begin to close roadways on Friday, May 20, at 8 p.m.

Employee Spotlight: Emily Vanek, Long-Range Planner

This month’s employee spotlight is Emily Vanek, a long-range planner for the City of Salisbury Planning Department. In her role, Emily works on historic preservation and long-range planning efforts such as the Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan. On a day-to-day basis, she works with residents, property owners and developers to review their plans for consistency with the Local Historic Design Standards and Land Development Ordinance, and issues Certificates of Appropriateness. Emily serves as the staff liaison to the Historic Preservation Commission.
