The BlockWork 2021 project is looking for volunteers for two days this year: Tuesday, October 19 and Saturday, October 23. Speak with your supervisor to see if you can volunteer during work hours.
Employees who are fully-vaccinated or who become fully-vaccinated by December 2021, can email proof of their full vaccination to Human Resources at email@example.com to receive the following incentives:
- 3 extra days of annual leave (benefit-eligible employees)
- additional $250 (when city reaches 65% vaccination)
- additional $250 (when city reaches 75% vaccination)
Both vaccinated and unvaccinated staff are required to wear masks when in common areas or around other people.
St. John’s has obtained permission from NCDOT & City of Salisbury to close both lanes of the 200 block of W Innes St at their church. This will create a detour for westbound traffic. Traffic will turn left onto S Church St; then right onto W Fisher St; and then right on S Fulton St to reach Innes St and continue their commute. This work is to take place this Thursday, September 16th between 5 am and 6am.
200 block of East Fisher bridge is closed due to repairs. The repairs are estimated to take several weeks.
NCDOT resurfacing of Main and Innes Streets through downtown will begin Monday, September 20th at 8 pm. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between 8 pm and 6 am nightly. More details read this news article.

New time card software called Executime is rolling out. Departments are divided into four groups which will start using the software at specific times. Training will be provided by the Human Resources department.
