    VACCINE INCENTIVES

    Employees who are fully-vaccinated or who become fully-vaccinated by December 2021, can email proof of their full vaccination to Human Resources at humanresources@salisburync.gov to receive the following incentives:
    - $250
    - 3 extra days of annual leave (benefit-eligible employees)
    - additional $250 (when city reaches 65% vaccination)
    - additional $250 (when city reaches 75% vaccination)

    City employees are receiving one-time payments from American Covid Relief funds for their work during the pandemic, based on their essential status and when they were hired:
    - up to $3,500 for critical personnel
    - up to $2,500 for non-critical personnel
    - up to $1,500 for part-time personnel

    Both vaccinated and unvaccinated staff are required to wear masks when in common areas or around other people.

    SECOND Covid Clinic

    The second Pfizer dose vaccine clinic at SRU’s multipurpose room at 1 Water Street on Friday, September 10th from 1-4pm. The Rowan County Health Department plans to bring some extra vaccine doses for any City employee that would like to get their 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer) on Friday, September 10.

  • Compost For The Cause

    It's compost. The cause is compost.

    Our compost education initiative needs your repurposed containers! We're looking for 20-48 oz. containers with sealable lids that won't leak. Already cleaned, please!

Weekly Internal News (W.I.N.)

    Road Closures

    • St. John’s has obtained permission from NCDOT & City of Salisbury to close both lanes of the 200 block of W Innes St at their church. This will create a detour for westbound traffic. Traffic will turn left onto S Church St; then right onto W Fisher St; and then right on S Fulton St to reach Innes St and continue their commute. This work is to take place this Thursday, September 16th between 5 am and 6am.

    • East Fisher bridge repairs have started. The repair is still estimated to take several weeks.

    • NCDOT resurfacing of Main and Innes Streets through downtown will begin Monday, September 20th at 8 pm. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between 8 pm and 6 am nightly. More details read this news article.

Downtown Salisbury, Inc and the Empire Redevelopment Task Force Announce Winner of Bid For Empire Hotel Block

Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) and the Empire Redevelopment Task Force (ERTF) have unanimously voted to move forward with a boutique hotel concept with residential and commercial mixed-use for the redevelopment of the former Empire Hotel, awarding the development bid to Charlotte-based developer, Brett Krueger, and his affiliate, Howard Kosofsky.
